Hello everyone,
I'd like to tell you a bit about myself.
My name is Domenico D'Avanzo.
I was born in Cicciano, (in the province of Naples) in Italy,
but now I live in Oosterhout (near the town of Breda) in the Netherlands.
When I had the age of 13, my father and mother had a very old radio
and record player that I loved playing my record on..
I wrote down the lyrics of the song I played,
so that I could sing along to my favourite singers.
It used to drive my family crazy, but singing ran in myblood even the.
It was my greatest passion.
When I was 14 two buskerst playing in the village invited me to sing a song with them.
They did not have to ask twice.Afterwards one of them intrduced himself
as the manager of the band Sciu ' Sciu '. He liked my singing and asked me to join the band.
I accepted and that was the beginning of my singing career with Sciu' Sciu'.
We played at weddings and other festivities, in night clubs, etc.
When I had to enlist for military service in Northern Italy , I really missed the singing.
I started to look around for a local band that I could join and soon came across The Principi.
We entered several competitions and were even crowned Best Band of Northern Italy.
But I wanded more and after a while I joined The Ambassadors,
another Northern Italian band The Dinamici.
After my military service I went to Switzerland, where I joined The Huricanes.
I had started to like travelling and decided to move on to Belgium.
Here I sang with The Rockers and Deep Water.
Over the years I have worked with a score of Dutch artists,
such as Lee Towers, Father Abraham, Mieke, Dennie Christian and many others.
I never stopped writing my own songs and lyrics By now,
I have written a total of 42 songs, 9 of which are available on my
new album' L'unica per me' (The Only One for Me)
My new album' Capri
Of which songs there are now 12 on cd.
At the moment I am busy recording my third album, ( Lucia ) that probable
in February 2008 from comes.
I will always be writing and singing new songs,
because that is what I enjoy doing most.
